Minecraft Analytics vs SSH logs

Reading latest.log over SSH works until the network has a proxy and several backends. Minecraft Analytics is that same log stream, plus metrics, without a terminal on each box.

What SSH logs does

SSH and a log file show exactly what that process printed. You see one machine at a time, and the history is whatever rotation left on disk.

What Minecraft Analytics does

The Minecraft Analytics plugin forwards logs and metrics to your account. You search lobby, survival, and Velocity together and save queries for later.

When to use which

• Use SSH when you are already on the box and want the raw file.
• Use Minecraft Analytics when the report is 'someone cannot join' and the clue might be on the proxy or on a backend you are not shelled into.
