Minecraft Analytics vs Spark
Spark and Minecraft Analytics answer different questions. Spark tells you which plugin is eating the tick on the server you are looking at. Minecraft Analytics tells you what the network did over time, including machines you are not logged into.
What Spark does
Spark is an in-game profiler. You open it on a Paper server, take a sample, and see which plugins and ticks are slow. The report lives on that server for as long as you keep it.
What Minecraft Analytics does
Minecraft Analytics is the place you open after you close the game. TPS, player counts, exceptions, and logs from every Paper process and the Velocity proxy land in one app.
When to use which
- Use Spark when a single server is lagging right now and you need a profiler sample.
- Use Minecraft Analytics when you need the same network's history: which shard dropped, what the proxy logged, and which exception started after a deploy.
